Old Rag MountainTrail

I had the opportunity to climb a trail with some friends the other weekend. It was a gorgeous day and quite a hike! I didn't realize until later that this is how it is described on the Hiking Upward web site:

The Old Rag Mountain hike in the Shenandoah National Park is one of the most popular hikes in the mid-Atlantic region. With many spectacular panoramic views, and one of the most challenging rock scrambles in the park, this circuit hike is a favorite of many hikers.

After hiking over 2500 ft uphill, the views were spectacular! From this vantage point it was hard to believe that the parking lot at the base of the mountain was how high I actually climbed!
Scrambling through all the rocks was challenging -- and so fun...
My legs were sore for a few days after but I am soooo ready to do it again!
